Another Year Gone

The end of 2018.
Six weeks of school holidays.
With our 3yo and 6yo boys.
It’s only the second day and my sanity wants to scream.
“Stay out of the fridge!”
“Do not hit your brother!”
“What’s the magic word?”
“What made you think that was OK?”
The list of questions is endless.
… and inside that time is Xmas and NYE!
I love my kids …. but why did we ruin a perfectly good life this way??
In six weeks time Jai begins Grade 1 and Aidan begins Kindegarten, and I will be 50 years old.
The beginning of 2019.

In Excess

‚Äč”We will just buy a small gift.”

No, don’t.

Family and friends have been doing that for five years, and sometimes just because it looked good at the time or one boy touched it in store.

We now have an extensive library of toys and books. Being us, all are boxed and shelved so as to ease the declutter process each afternoon.

What I would prefer to hear, or what I dream of hearing:

We’ll drop a few dollars into their accounts.” Yes, each boy has one.

“We’ll donate a few dollars to your choice of charity in their name.” RFDS

Underpants for Xmas

Aliens Love Panta ClausWe did the coolest thing for Jai for Xmas: We dressed his teddy bears in new underwearincluding a T-rex, bear, kangaroo, koala, crocodile and pig! Why?
Recently he received ‘Aliens Love Panta Claus‘ , ‘Monsters Love Underpants‘ and ‘Dinosaurs Love Underpants‘ – so we figured his jaw would hit the floor if he woke to find his teddies wearing underpants!

And he did. It was a very funny morning for us on Xmas. I suspect my little men will be telling people about it for months.

I bet your kids also had a great Xmas day!

PS. We receive a small commission from any purchase you make when you follow the links to fishpond.com.au. All money will go into each of the boy’s piggy-banks. Cheers!
